The longlisted entries contending for the DSC Prize for South Asian Literature 2013 are Jamil Ahmad's The Wandering Falcon, Alice Albinia's Leela’s Book, Tahmima Anam's The Good Muslim, Rahul Bhattacharya's The Sly Company of People Who Care, Roopa Farooki's The Flying Man, Musharraf Ali Farooqi's Between Clay and Dust, Amitav Ghosh's River of Smoke, Niven Govinden's Black Bread White Beer, Sunetra Gupta's So Good in Black, Mohammed Hanif's Our Lady of Alice Bhatti, Jerry Pinto's Em and the Big Hoom, Uday Prakash's The Walls of Delhi, Anuradha Roy's The Folded Earth, Saswati Sengupta's The Song Seekers, Geetanjali Shree's The Empty Space and Jeet Thayil's Narcopolis. The jury panel included K Satchidanandan (Chair), Muneeza Shamsie, Rick Simonson, Suvani Singh and Eleanor O’Keeffe.
